ARB Partners With Toyota on New Tacoma Trailhunter

Layer 5

The Toyota Tacoma has been the darling of overlanders across North America for nearly 30 years, and ARB has long supported the platform with aftermarket parts and accessories. Thanks to its reputation for capability, durability, and reliability, Tacomas can be seen traversing not only North America, but overland routes across the globe. The newly redesigned 2024 Tacoma will be hitting dealers soon and is bound to be a major hit, especially the overland-ready Trailhunter version, which includes a host of genuine ARB parts right from the factory.

This factory-built adventuremobile is going to include proper off-road gear such as Old Man Emu suspension, and an ARB rear bumper, recovery points, bed rack and sport bar. These ARB parts will help make the Trailhunter one of the most capable factory-built Toyota Tacomas to date. Let’s take a quick look at some of the Trailhunter’s ARB parts.

Old Man Emu Suspension

Old Man Emu suspension systems are world- renowned for their performance and comfort both on- and off-road. This kit, co-developed with Toyota, has a position-sensitive 2.5-inch forged monotube shock setup with rear external piggyback-style remote reservoirs. The shocks are specifically tuned for the rigors of overland travel and use a hard-anodized aluminum 6061 body for maximum durability and heat dissipation. They also provide an extra two inches of clearance in front and one-and-a-half in the rear to increase the Trailhunter’s off-road capability.

Rear Bumper and Recovery Points

ARB is well known for its tough-as-nails bumpers, and the rear bumper on the Trailhunter will be the genuine article. This great-looking unit was also co-developed with Toyota and is built from 2.5mm-thick steel and showcases the must-haves for overlanding and off-roading. This includes back-up and key-fob sensor capability, two robust steel recovery points (in a red finish for easy visibility), two jack points for an off-road jack, non-slip step pads, a tow connector for trailers, an integrated license plate mount, and provisions for rear-facing auxiliary lights. Like all ARB bumpers, it wears a durable powder-coated finish to resist corrosion and will look great for years.

Bed Rack and Sport Bar

These parts will provide further style and functionality to the Tacoma Trailhunter. The bed rack’s modular design includes MOLLE panels that can be mounted along either side letting you easily secure a wide range of overlanding gear. Its crossbars have ARB’s signature dovetail mounting system as well as t-channels. This system holds an impressive 300 lbs. and comes in light- or heavy-duty options.

The sport bar is styled to match the bed rack and is made from thick 2.5mm side posts to support loads. It also includes a MOLLE system that can carry overlanding necessities, from shovels and recovery equipment, to extra fuel and Tred Recovery Boards which may need to be accessed quickly.
